Asbestos - Qualifications
Removing Asbestos is a Specialist task requiring training and licensing.
We can inform, educate and train you with the knowledge and practices required for the safe removal of asbestos in Australia. In addition our training addresses some of the pre-requisites for the Asbestos Removal licencing process with WorkSafe WA.
Scorpion Training are specialist training providers for anyone required to remove, handle or face exposure to asbestos in the workplace or in their home environments. Our knowledge is drawn from working closely with asbestos industry experts to deliver the necessary knowledge and skills to prepare you for working with this highly toxic substance that requires very specific handling, for the safety of all people in the vicinity of the site.
We offer 5 different Asbestos related courses to meet needs for general awareness and identification of Asbestos for contractors, employees and domestic operators in WA.
The purpose of these courses is to equip you with the knowledge and skills that will help you safely plan, manage and/or undertake the removal of asbestos in your circumstances.

The following 3 Courses are Nationally Recognised - they are often required by operators to meet contractual obligations for Federal Government sites or in industries governed federally such as Telecommunications.
CPCCDE3014 Remove Non-Friable Asbestos (also known as bonded asbestos)
CPCCDE3015 Remove Friable Asbestos (Friable Asbestos can become airborne and has more stringent requirements for handling)
CPCCDE4008 Supervise Asbestos Removal - many contracts require Supervisors of work teams to hold this higher qualification to ensure the safety of their team. If you are removing asbestos commercially, then you must have a qualified Supervisor in attendance

2 further courses are offered that are designed to:
- educate and prepare workers to have awareness of Asbestos in workplaces including being able to identify asbestos containing materials and what processes are required to handle asbestos - Asbestos Awareness in the Workplace
- WSRAL001 Restricted Asbestos Licence (Note this course is NO longer valid for application for the the WorkSafe WA Restricted Asbestos Licence - Licence holders must now hold the Natiuonal units of competency above - please contact us for details)
